There was a bike crash in the city centre last Monday. The police reported that the cyclist turned his bike suddenly while he was riding in front of a car. After the cyclist was struck and thrown in the air, he was unconscious for approximately 30 seconds. The driver of the car wasn’t injured, only his car’s windshield had broken. The emergency service described the cyclist as being awake when they arrived. They took him to the hospital because he was complaining about pains in his back. The police noted that the cyclist was wearing a helmet which was also heavily damaged, and most probably the helmet prevented much more serious injury or death.
